Fujitsu FMV-Lifebook series S, H, E notebooks updated

Fujitsu FMV H8240 Lifebook Vista Business

Fujitsu has updated their FMV-Lifebook series with Vista Business and a hard drive with encoding functionality. Speed, ample storage, and an excellent display are the highlights of the Fujitsu LifeBook FMV-S8340, which also packs an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a dual-layer multiformat DVD burner into a six-pound, silver-and-ebony body. Priced at $1,419 to $2,234., as tested, this system has everything notebook buyers are looking for, provided they upgrade to the higher-capacity battery. Fujitsu’s long-running LifeBook series of convertible PCs has always enjoyed strong ergonomics and good weight-performance ratios, squeezing a fair amount of speed and functionality into tight packages. The FMV-S8340 that includes 13.3-inch display (1,280×800), Intel Core 2 Duo / Celeron M 430 processor, up to 4GB RAM, 40GB hard drive, and a optical drive. Weighting about 1.85kg, it provides battery life of 5.5 hours.

Fujitsu LifeBook S2210 Business Laptop AMD Turion X2 Released

Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced the Fujitsu LifeBook S2210, a thin and light 13.3-inch XGA display business laptop powered by AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor at 1.6GHz and ATI Radeon X1150 graphics with up to 256MB of shared graphics memory

Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced the Fujitsu LifeBook S2210, a thin and light 13.3-inch XGA display business laptop powered by AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor at 1.6GHz and ATI Radeon X1150 graphics with up to 256MB of shared graphics memory. Some extra features to protect data include a spill-resistant keyboard and the Fujitsu Shock Sensor utility, an accelerometer-based hard disk drive protection system that retracts the hard drive head if a sudden movement or vibration is detected, reducing the possibility of data loss. One of my favorite things about these Fujitsu notebooks is the keyboard that they use. As the Vista-Premium-powered S2210 delivers features to the home laptop buyer that are usually reserved for business-class portables. For example, this four-pound machine's hard drive (a generous 80GB) has active data protection, which parks the heads should the unit be moved (or dropped) while the hard drive is reading or writing. Considering the S2210 will likely be shuttled around the house, this feature should come in handy, as should the spill-resistant keyboard.
