Lenovo ThinkPad Z61m Laptop Review | Total Score | | Lest business users believe that Lenovo has completely consumerized the ThinkPad brand, rest assured that the Z60M is as secure, comfortable, and reliable as its predecessors. In addition to a TPM chip and fingerprint sensor, this system protects its hard drive using what’s called a Roll Cage. It’s a single piece of magnesium that houses the internal components to keep your data safe, a smart design element that’s complemented by the ThinkPad’s often copied Active Protection System, which can stop the hard drive in case of a fall. The Z61m is the update to the newer widescreen Z series of ThinkPads. It sports Intel's latest and greatest CPU, the Core Duo amongst other upgrades, but that's the big one. The Z series is the more multimedia oriented notebook in the ThinkPad line with a widescreen display, built-in web cam, media card reader, FireWire connector and more. The Z61m will start out relatively modestly with the Celeron M all the way to mucho dinero with all the do-dads. For someone in need of an exceedingly well built notebook for around the house/office notebook with infrequent jaunts about town, I can't think of a better choice. The overall impression is that we are dealing with one robust and sturdy laptop that will not easily give in to any phisical demand. When you say business class you say black color choice. Again, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z61m is no exception. A great addition to the overall looks of the Lenovo ThinkPad Z61m is the titanium lid; and not only to the looks but also it gives the laptop robustness. Pressing the back of the lid will not create ripples on the display like we've seen in other laptops. Also, the notebook is more fit for a travel in terms of sturdiness; it will surpass the shocks in the back pack easier. The inside of the Lenovo ThinkPad Z61m is made of an resistant yet elegant plastic. The ThinkPad Z61m is no different. Revamped with faster Intel Core Duo components, it’s a powerful desktop-replacement notebook that can tackle your toughest tasks. The machine also has a few little luxuries, such as integrated EV-DO and a built-in webcam. Users can tap into Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess Network at speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps in 171 U.S. markets by simply opening the VZAccess Manager software and double clicking on the National Access-Broadband Access icon.
