HP Pavilion dv2000t Laptop with Core Duo Review
HP Pavilion dv2000t Laptop with Core Duo Review When it comes to design, features, and software, the HP Pavillion dv2000t is virtually identical to the Compaq Presario V3000, with the exception of a Webcam built into the Pavilion's lid. For complete details about the HP dv2000 t's overall design, feature set, and warranty, head on over to HP Compaq Presario V3000 review. HP's dv2000t is the "next generation" of the aging dv1000 series. Because of its 14.1" widescreen LCD, 1"-1.5" thickness, and 5.4 lbs, the dv2000t is portable and large enough to be used comfortably. Even though the dv2000t is not built for gaming, it is a great solution for those who need everything in a portable system. The DV2000 comes in two models, the Z and the T series. The T series, which I purchased, offers Intel's single or duo core processors. I purchased a Core Duo processor @ 2.00ghz. I was curious about the Z series, however, which offers AMD chips, including Mobile AMD Sempron chips and the 64 bit AMD Turion processor. I will admit, though, that I was intimidated about venturing over to 64 bit land. I was under the impression that I would need a 64 bit version of Windows XP to take full advantage of it, but 64 bit OSs and software seem a bit uncooked for me still. My notebook comes with Windows XP Professional, which is a relatively stable operating system -- and yes, I can agree that Mac's OS is much better all around. Departing from the familiar matte silver-and-black case, the dv2000 has sleek rounded edges, a high-gloss finish (which HP says is particularly scratch resistant), and a subtle Zen wave design on the lid. Looks aside, however, the Pavilion dv2000 sticks to the same basic script as previous Pavilion models: you get a strong set of components and most of the features that a home user will want for a competitive price, starting at $830. HP has also upped the ante with the dv2000’s processor options: you can configure it with either an Intel Core Solo or Core Duo, or AMD Sempron or Turion 64 X2 processors. The Turion-powered Pavilion dv2000z was unimpressive in the performance and battery-life categories, but the Pavilion dv2000t–thanks to its superspeedy 2.00GHz Core Duo processor and larger battery–scored well in both arenas.

Apple MacBook Pro Laptop with Core 2 Duo Review
Apple MacBook Pro Laptop with Core 2 Duo Review If your precious PowerBook G4 means the world to you, then brace yourself: This fabulous design just got repackaged with some Intel firepower. The MacBook Pro (15-inch) is the new standard for Mobile Mac users. Gone are the slow IBM PowerPC processors, and in come the Intel Core Duo processors, raising the Mac performance bar like never before. For consumers, this is a huge deal. But graphics and media professionals should wait until their essential software apps are updated to universal binary (to be optimized for Intel-based systems). A cursory glimpse at the MacBook Pro reveals that Apple hasn't changed the machine too much from its older brother—that is, until you turn it on. Apple's first 15.4-inch widescreen (1440 x 900 pixels) is remarkably sharp and bright, and when placed next to an old PowerBook, we knew that it would be tough to go back. The look and feel of the MacBook Pro doesn't stray much from the PowerBook G4; why change the sexiest design on the market? The typing experience is still a pleasure, and the touchpad is ideal for surfing. I had some trouble using the scrolling touchpad feature in Excel, but that's probably because Microsoft Office is not yet running at universal binary speed. We like that Apple kept the ambient light-sensing technology, which illuminates the keys and dims the screen in a darkened environment, and the scrolling TrackPad, which allows clickless document scrolling. Apple's SuperDrive comes standard, allowing for out-of-the box DVD burning, as does the six-pin FireWire, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB 2.0 ports on either side of the notebook. Like a small handful of PC makers, Apple has ditched the PC Card slot in favor of the smaller but faster Express Card slot. This means users will have to wait for companies to catch up before they can plug in 3G cellular modems and other peripherals.

HP Pavilion dv6000t Laptop with Core 2 Duo Review
HP Pavilion dv6000t Laptop with Core 2 Duo Review For three months the HP Pavilion dv6000t Laptop has been number 1 for most popular laptop. The dv6000t is popular, and in a big way. No wonder though. Its 15.4" widescreen form factor is the most popular type and the dv6000t is widely available in stores. The cool design of the dv6000t with its imprint finish and offering of a powerful Core 2 Duo processor and Nvidia 7400 graphics card make this Vista capable notebook a nice choice for a multimedia home PC. The real draw, of course, is the performance. The Core 2 Duo processor helped the dv6000t deliver the best MobileMark 2005 score we’ve ever seen from a mainstream portable (279)–a full 50 points better than the identical machine configured with the older Core Duo CPU. The HP Pavilion dv6000t is popular for three reasons 1) It's flexible in configuration and can be had for a cheap price of $520 with a Celeron processor 2) It's available in nearly every store so people know about it 3) It's a mainstream 15.4" screen notebook that's by far the most popular size notebook for first-time notebook buyers. The dv6000t can be configured with a Celeron, Core Solo or Core Duo processor. HP Pavilion dv6000t is Intel based member of Pavilion dv6000 series and one of the first in HP Pavilion line of notebooks (together with dv9000t ) to feature new Intel Core 2 Duo processor. HP didn’t alter the design of the slick Pavilion dv6000t. The glossy piano-black finish and gray pinstriping outside (with that color scheme reversed inside) looks stunning. Even better, the dv6000t has the features and performance to complement its good looks.
The dv6000t is part of HP’s chassis redesign and is draped with imprints that are unique to the company’s Pavilion and Compaq lines. The subtle, wavy lines are inspired by Japanese rock gardens, and the piano-black finish captures your attention (as well as fingerprints and smudges). The 120GB hard drive is essential for storing video and MP3 downloads. You can burn them directly to DVD using the dual-layer DVD drive. The unit has three USB ports, the same number as on the smaller dv2000z. Great for your everyday needs, this notebook PC is packed with everything you’d get in a desktop, plus the convenience of wireless mobility. Configure your notebook with a dedicated graphics card and load multiple web pages and streaming video without slowing your hard drive. Add the HP Imprint Finish for style and durability, plus the optional integrated webcam to stay in touch on the go.

Acer Aspire 5102WLMi Laptop with Turion64 X2 Review Acer is a make that has become renowned for myself over the past few years it has started to produce laptops that are of a very high standard and the Acer Aspire 5102WLMi is no exception. It comes with a dvd writer so that you can burn or copy your own dvds and watch them in the comfort of your own home. it also has a cd writer to enable you to copy music, pictures, word files and many more things to disc. The Acer Aspire 5102 is powered by the AMD Turion X2 dual core 64-bit processor. The Acer Aspire 5102 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook that can be had for a great price, around $900. You get a 120GB hard drive, dual core processor, integrated web camera, 5-in-1 card reader and DVD Super Multi drive burner all for that price -- amazing! The 5102 is available in electronics retail stores everywhere. While this is a completely new offering from Acer, it utilizes many components from other Acer notebooks, primarily being from the Aspire 3100. It is so new, in fact, that instead of having its own drivers it shares many of the same drivers as the 3100. The 5102WLMi offered fair Wi-Fi performance, delivering 12.9 Mbps from 15 feet, and 10.9 Mbps from 50 feet. Bluetooth connectivity is available for those who wish to sync their smart phones wirelessly or place VoIP calls using a Bluetooth headset. Supported Flash Memory Cards: SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card
One of the more interesting features of the 5102WLMi is the Acer Gridvista Extension utility, which enables you to view multiple open windows or applications by allowing you to see through them. For example, if you’re working on a report and need to view a Web page at the same time, you can make a Word document transparent so you can see the information on the page behind. Packing admirable performan ce and battery life into Acer's chic Folio design, the Aspire 5000 Series features high on the list of value-centric computers that offer powerful processing capabilities and thinner-lighter mobility. The Acer Aspire 5102 laptop is a great choice for those who want a powerful and practical system while on the go.

HP Compaq nx6125 laptop Preview Part I
HP Compaq nx6125 laptop Preview Part I Compaq NX6125 - 64 Bit Turion Laptop, TOP secure laptop with low price HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6125 - Turion 64 ML-37 2 GHz - 15" TFT . The new Compaq NX6125 from Hewlett Packard is a great example of the notebook bargains available on the current market. The NX6125 is equipped with a 60GB hard drive, integrated biometric fingerprint sensor, wireless connectivity, bluetooth, a firewire port, 3 USB ports, and a 6-in-1 card reader. At 6.1 pounds, it's not too heavy to carry around, and with its 15-inch screen, sizable hard drive, and dual-format optical drive, it's quite capable of doing double duty as a desktop computer. Which segues neatly with the arrival of the HP Compaq nx6125, which so clearly is taking care of business, users that is. This is the first Compaq to sport an AMD processor and it has taken the arrival of the Turion 64-bit processor to make an impression. Turion is being billed as the rival to Intel’s all-dominant Pentium M chip and while we’ve yet to see any real battery gains from the Turion, the use of 64-bit processing means its more than powerful enough for notebook use.
