TDK Electronics 4.7GB/16x DVD-R (100-Pack Spindle) Review From preserving family memories to protecting important data, TDK 4.7GB DVD-R media offers the widest compatibility with computer drives and home DVD players. Ideal for general purpose recording, a single TDK DVD-R has ample capacity for thousands of digital photos, up to six hours of video and behemoth mission-critical data files. Each DVD-R disc can be fully recorded once. As DVD recording speeds have increased, the importance of using name brand, quality media has become paramount. When a DVD-R is recorded at high speeds, the fast RPM's of the recording process require an advanced, ultra-sensitive recording material capable of compensating for the abbreviated exposure to the drive laser. Specially formulated with a rapid phase-change recording layer, TDK DEV-R media products maximize the data transfer rate while minimizing the potential for errors. The discs have been thoroughly tested and verified to outperform other media brands, which may rely on slow-reacting, error-prone phase-change materials. TDK AVIST metallic alloys change between crystalline and amorphous states in response to the heat generated by a laster for phase-change recording. The differences in relectivity exhibited by the alloy in its cystalline and amorphous states are read as data. TDK AVIST alloys are designed for the most precise laser response, resulting in perfect data marks and superior recording and playback performance.

3M Privacy Filter For 15-inch Notebook and LCD Monitor Screens
3M Privacy Filter For 15-inch Notebook and LCD Monitor Screens 3M™ PF15.0 - Privacy Filter for 15-inch Notebook and LCD Monitors. 3M™ Notebook/LCD Privacy Computer Filter PF15.0 fits laptop and 15-inch LCD desktop displays. Provides privacy protection in high traffic areas utilizing 3M's privacy technology. No blurring or distortion of on-screen data. Protects fragile LCD screens from fingerprints and damage. 3M Privacy Filters poke figurative sticks in the eyes of nosey neighbors. Not that sharing doesn't give those involved a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. But shoulder surfing is just plain annoying. Working on a notebook computer in public leverages the portable computer's value, makes constructive use of time you spend passively waiting to travel and traveling, and reduces or eliminates boredom. But chances are you'd prefer what's on that 15.4-inch LCD screen to be "For Your Eyes Only," to borrow an espionage phrase. That's where 3M Privacy Filters come in! Other vendors wanted nearly twice as much for the product. It works well for people who travel. However, 3M should consider pricing this more reasonabally. It is just a film you put over your screen, which at $45 to $90 is pricy. I do wish the product came with more adhesive things that hold it on the screen. Sometime it is necessary to switch laptops. You can almost completely stop those peeping toms with this filter. While it is not 100% effective, it does block or blur most of the view from people who are not directly behind you. You can kind of see the double sided tape squares you place in each corner to keep it affixed to your monitor but it isn't obvious enough to be annoying or distracting. If your monitor is directly opposite your door, yes, everyone passing by will be able to see what you do. Since my computer is set up at an angle to my office entrance, it works perfectly. Fits well on my screen, attaches easily, and offers me & my data privacy, all at a very nice price

Targus TXL617 17 XL Notebook Backpack Review Part I
| Targus TXL617 17 XL Notebook Backpack Review Part I The Targus XL Notebook Backpack is perfect for the notebook user who carries their life on their back. This pack provides ample space for notebooks with up to 17-inch screens and also includes a main compartment for files. Additional storage areas include a mesh water-bottle pouch, a soft pouch for sunglasses, and a pocket for your mobile phone. Designed for comfort, this backpack has a place for everything. This bag is perfect If you are have a large amount of books and other stuff to carry around. And it has several pockets to store sunglasses, a bag lunch, a nice cell phone pouch that can fit anything from a reasonably sized Nokia to a clamshell phone hanging off of the left shoulder strap, Palm Pilot, iPod - with even a slot to fit your earbuds or headphones through, although that's kind of tricky -- a very well-padded storage area for your Notebook computer, all the connections and wires that accompany it, and, top it all off, a place for your water bottle.
If you are taking a lot of classes with a lot of books, the compartments are very spacious and can hold a lot. Unlike most reviewers here I find it very comfortable when full, and not heavy at all once you are used to a little extra weight. The only real drawback to the backpack is it's rather large. When I have the backpack fully loaded it looks somewhat reminiscent of a stuffed hiking backpack. In addition, due to its ample storage capabilities, it is rather easy to pack quite a heavy load if you're not careful. However, the padded shoulder straps appear to be firmly attached and designed in such a way to disperse the load evenly across your shoulders to minimize fatigue. |
